The New Yorker, one of the most iconic and influential publications in American history, is commemorating its 100th anniversary. Since its debut in February 1925, the magazine has been a beacon of literary excellence, offering groundbreaking journalism, fiction, poetry, and illustrations that have shaped cultural conversations for a century.

"The Magazine Century" returns with a comprehensive 2nd Edition
The second edition of The Magazine Century: American Magazine Since 1900 by David E. Sumner and Samir Husni was published by Peter Lang International in December 2023. The first edition has been cited by scholars in 171 journal articles, dissertations and books in more than 15 countries. The book offers the freshest and most up-to-date history of American magazines through 2020. It includes circulation data, ownership changes, the Internet’s effect on magazines, new magazine launches in each decade since 1900, and the surprising rebound of print magazines. Ilo Alexandre appointed Head of Communication at MagLab
The assistant professor at Universidade Lusófona Ilo Alexandre has been appointed Head of Communication at MagLab, the first international research lab dedicated to Magazine Studies as an independent field of study.

Submissions open for IJMS Vol. 2 No. 1 (2025)
The International Journal of Magazine Studies (IJMS) now accepts submissions for its second issue (Vol. 2 No. 1, 2025). Researchers and scholars are invited to submit original manuscripts exploring diverse aspects of magazine studies.
