FoM 2025 to host hybrid workshops on academic writing and AI research tools

The international  Future of Magazine 2025 conference, organized by Magazine Media Lab/CICANT, is announcing two hybrid workshops. The sessions, focusing on academic writing and AI tools for scientific research, will take place on 29 and 30 October 2025, as part of the conference’s dynamic program of scholarly exchange and professional development.

The first workshop, “Academic Writing – Situated Skills and Strategies,” explores the challenges of publishing in academic journals, blending theory and practice, and helps participants enhance their writing through reflection and exercises.

The second session, “AI Tools for Scientific Research: Fast-Tracking Analysis While Keeping the Human Edge”, will offer a practical introduction to generative AI applications in research, exploring how technology can accelerate analysis without undermining ethical and methodological rigor.

Both workshops are free to all FoM 2025 conference delegates and open to non-conference attendees for a fee of €50 each, encouraging a wider community to engage with the latest academic and technological trends. Registration for the conference and workshops is open here. Under the theme (Re)Thinking Magazines: Challenges and Opportunities, the second edition of the FoM will take place from October 29 to 31 at Lusófona University (Centro Universitário de Lisboa).
