Sónia Lamy

Sónia Lamy holds a Ph.D. in Communication Sciences from Nova University Lisbon. She is an Assistant Professor at Lusófona University and a researcher in CICANT, where she is the Assistant Scientific Coordinator of the Observatory for the Media in Lusophony.

Sónia is the Principal Investigator in the European project Erasmus + Fake the system: EU tools against disinformation¿ (2020-3-IT03-KA205-019960). And she is also co-PI of the research project IM Lab (Intersectionality Media Lab) – The Joacine Katar Moreira Case Study (COFAC/CICANT/PhDResearcher/2020) and integrates the research team working on the FCT Project “Glocal feminist movements: interactions and contradictions” (PTDC/COM-CSS/4049/2021). Sónia Lamy was an Adjunct Teacher at Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre, between 2006 and 2021, where she coordinated Media and Society Master Degree (2015-2021). She coordinated several events at the institution and collaborated in the organization and edition of publications developed at the Polytechnic of Portalegre. She collaborated with the Project World Reading Academy Project Journalism, communication, and me, financed by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in 2020. Sónia Lamy was also a journalist for about ten years. She is dedicated to the research of journalism studies, news sources, NGOs, and more recently, Intersectionality and Media Literacy.
