Camila Hartmann

Camila Hartmann is a Professor in the Department of Business Management and Communication at the University of Santa Cruz do Sul (Unisc), Brazil. She holds a Ph.D. in Communication from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM). She was a Visiting Researcher at Södertörn University (Sweden) from 2022 to 2023, funded by a CAPES-STINT scholarship. She also holds an M.A. in Communication and a B.A. in Social Communication – Journalism, both from UFSM. In 2023–2024, she served as a Professor at the School of Library Science and Communication at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Her research interests include mediatization, journalism, platforms, semiotics, discourse, and visual media, particularly magazine covers. She is a member of two international research networks: MagNet (since 2022), dedicated to magazine studies, and Midiaticom (since 2024), focused on Global North–South dialogues on mediatization.
