Elena Caratti

Elena Caratti, PhD, is Associate Professor and works at the Department of Design, Politecnico di Milano. She holds a degree in Architecture and a PhD in Design and Multimedia Communication from the Doctoral School of Politecnico di Milano. She is currently chair of the Bachelor's and Master's degree course in Communication Design where she teaches Elements of Design and Visual Communication. At the Doctoral School she teaches Positioning research. For years she has been conducting research in the field of visual cultures and editorial design. Author of Gender-sensitive Remedies (2015), she co-edited the book Design is translation (2016), and the book Designing ethically in a complex world (2024).
