FoM2023 will take place at Lusófona University’s Lisbon University Centre, at the heart of the Portuguese capital. Lusófona university is the largest private university in Portugal, offering 65 Bachelor programs, 70 Masters, 4 Integrated Masters, 8 “Erasmus Mundus” International Masters, 2 Professional Masters and one in EAD, 13 PhD programs, and a wide range of postgraduation, specialized training, and micro-credential courses.
In Lisbon, the Tagus river is never far away as we explore the history-laden streets of a city that constantly confronts us with its past, as the decorative cobble pavements lead us up from the Praça do Comércio through the 18th century Lower Town to St. George’s Castle.
From the Castle, we can enjoy unparalleled views of the south bank, Rossio, the Carmo Convent, the Bairro Alto, the Avenida da Liberdade and Parque Eduardo VII, Nossa Senhora do Monte, and the Mount of Graça. It could be for all the world a picture postcard of Lisbon under a perpetually blue sky, reflecting the varied colors of the roofs, streets, old houses, window frames, and green spaces, offset by the glittering stream of the Tagus!

What to do and see while in Lisbon?
Lisbon is a beautiful European capital, rich in history and typical neighborhoods. It is worth visiting some emblematic places of the Portuguese capital.
Bairro Alto is an old and picturesque neighborhood in the center of Lisbon, with narrow cobbled streets, century-old houses, small traditional shops, restaurants, and nightlife spots. Built on an orthogonal plan from the beginning of the 16th century, it is worth visiting
Alfama is the oldest and most typical neighborhood in the city of Lisbon and has a breathtaking view over the Tejo River. You cannot miss visiting the Castelo de São Jorge, the Sé and the viewpoints of Lisbon’s beautiful neighborhood. Take the camera with you!
Padrão dos Descobrimentos
For history lovers, the Padrão dos Descobrimentos, built by the riverside, is a commemorative mark, in the middle of the 20th century, of all the time of non-European conquest and exploration, driven by the kings of the Avis dynasty and centered on the action of the Infante. D. Henrique, lord of the Military Order of Christ.
Located in Belém, discover the legendary Mosteiro dos Jerónimos. Built in the 16th century, this masterpiece of Portuguese architecture, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stands out in the landscape. This is where several kings and queens of Portugal are buried and the honorary tombs of the poet Luís de Camões and the navigator Vasco da Gama.
