Carla Rodrigues Cardoso holds a PhD in Communication Sciences by NOVA University of Lisbon. At Lusófona University, she is an Assistant Professor and a researcher at CICANT, where she is the scientific coordinator of the Observatory for the Media in Lusophony and of the Magazine Media Lab. At Lusófona University, she is also the coordinator of the Master in Journalism and Media Studies and of the BA in Communication and Journalism. Her main research interests are Journalism and Magazine Studies, History of Journalism and, more recently, Intersectionality and Disinformation. Carla is the Principal Investigator of the research project “IM Lab (Intersectionality Media Lab) – The Joacine Katar Moreira Case Study (COFAC/CICANT/PhDResearcher/2020). She is also a researcher in the European project Erasmus + “Fake the system: EU tools against disinformation” (2020-3-IT03-KA205-019960). In 2020, she launched the course “Magazine Journalism in the Digital Age”, the first academic formation on Magazine Studies in Portugal. She edited two books, published three book chapters and an article in 2022, all connected to magazine and journalism studies.
